I guess I should start with Happy New Year...

Hi everyone!
Sorry I haven't been around here for a while, but I didn't feel like blogging, or crafting for that matter.
I hope all of you had a great Christmas and I wish you the best for 2012.
This is gonna be a bit of a different post, cause I am not sharing anything crafty, but I felt that I needed to share why I haven't been around before everything went back to normal around here.

Like my "about me" says, I am a bit of a crazy cat lady, and my fur-babies are very important to me. Well, a week before Christmas, one of my cats wasn't acting right, so I took her to the vet. Carusa (that's her name) was nearly 17 years old, and she already had some health issues. After spending 3 days at the vet's, there was not much they could do. Her kidneys weren't responding and her liver was failing too, so we had to say goodbye to her. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done, but I am grateful I could be with her through everything.
I didn't want this to be a sad post (although I am crying my eyes out as I write it), so I think I should share what I love most about her:
She was adorable, and she loved to cuddle. I always said that she would be the happiest cat if I could carry her around in my arms forever.
She loved laying in the sun (I guess every cat does)
She always had to be fed at 7pm, and she knew how to ask for it! She would follow you around, screaming at you until you fed her.
She loved to rub against noses, and people with glasses were her favorite, specially my hubby.
She always slept with me, since I got her when I was 13, but she learned to share the bed with my hubby when he moved in ;-)
She was the best cat I could have ever had!
We are gonna miss her soooo much! My other cat, called Pepi, is Caru's daughter, and she is already 14 years old. She is a bit depressed right now, cause the same day we said goodbye to Caru, she had surgery to have a tumour removed from her belly, and she doesn't seem to understand why she doesn't have to share anything anymore.
I guess everything that happened and taking care of Pepi is kept me away from crafting, but new year, new life, so I hope my mojo returns and I make some cards this week.
I still have some cards and tags to share with you from Christmas, so I will be back later.
If you are still with me, thanks! Just needed to share a bit of me...

  1. Oh, Cris, I am so sorry! I have a wonderful cat too, and can only imagine how you're feeling. Losing a beloved pet is so difficult. Take care, and take your time - we'll all be here when you're ready. Sending lots of hugs to you.

  4. So sorry about your cat. Mine are like my children so I totally get how upsetting it can be to loose them. Now that we have a newborn I make sure to give them the attention that they had before- don't want them to feel ousted by the baby. :)

I'm building my own blog and would LOVE for you to check it out- there's a cute video I uploaded this morning of my cat, Sammy, wishing the bird would come through the window. :) Please stop by if you get a chance: www.SerendipityandSpice.blogspot.com

    Thanks!
