Another last minute entry!!

****This is my second post of the day, to check my other entry to the Lawnscapings challenge, click here*****

Hiya! I had time to finish the card, so two posts today! Anyway, this card is for the current Lawnscapings challenge:
And I will be entering the Simon Says Stamp Challenge too:
Here is the card:
For this card I started by using distress inks to dye ribbon into the colors that I wanted. I just covered the ribbon with the ink and added some sprayed water for easy blending. Then I let the ribbons dry, or used my heat gun to speed up the process.
I cut a piece of white cardstock for the front of the card, and stamped "smile" from the Fly Free set from Lawn Fawn, with Black Memento ink all over it. I stamped the "happy birthday" from the Year One set from Lawn Fawn, with black StazOn ink over the white ribbon.
Then I glued loops on each ribbon and added buttons, I glued them all down over the front panel, and cut the ends of each ribbon into a "V".
I stamped the Envelope Pattern from Hero Arts over the front of a card base using Weathered Wood distress inks.
Glued the panel to the card, after I rounded one of the corners and added some Glossy Accents to each ribbon, to make sure they stay put.

I had lots of fun making these cards, because I never tend to use ribbon, and today I just couldn't get enough of it! So it was a nice change.

Now it's time to go to bed, thanks for stopping by and I hoped you liked it!!

  1. What a neat card! I love how you staggered the ribbon. Thanks so much for joining us at Lawnscaping. :)

  2. This is so clever, unique and beautiful! Love it, Cris! Wonderful creativity!

  3. Wow this is fabulous and so clever!! What lovely colours as well :) Thank you for joining us at the Simon Says Stamp challenge, hugs, Dawny x

  4. Wow. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE that you created your own color of ribbons with distress inks. How clever. I LOVE distress inks and you just worked wonders with them. Love your sweet smile sentiment along the background. I just love this card! Thank you so much for joining us Lawnscaping gals!!!

  5. This is so pretty and the ribbons are perfectly dyed! I'll try your method of dying the ribbon because it comes out more evenly than mine! I love distress inks and love making the ribbons that match! thaqnks for sharing!

  6. I came across your card on Hero Art - I love your idea with the white ribbon and making colours that match a project by jusing Distress Ink. Will have to try. The card is just so eye catching. Thank you for sharing.

  7. I already posted a comment but have been looking at your other cards - your very talented and I love your colour choices and descriptions - very easy to follow. Just going to ask a question and hope you see - what type of glue do you use to adhere the ribbons to the card 0 looks so neat and thought I should check before I try and stuff it up. Also when you say you add colour with distress ink do you drag along length of ribbon then just spray with water? Hope you have time for a reply - again -beautiful cards

Thank you! Your comments always make my day!
