Ombre trend

Hi everyone! 
Today I have a card for you using one of my favorite trends. I love the ombre trend and when I bought the pool shades from Bazzill, I had to try it on a card:

Using the Pool layering papers from Hero Arts and the ones from Bazzill, you get the perfect ombre look.

Big card

Today I'm sharing with you a big card I made for one of my husband's friends. He wanted a Happy New Year card for his in laws, something with a message from the gran kids and it had to be 8,5" x 11".
So here is what I made:

I used a gorgeous skyline die cut from Hero Arts, and to make the fireworks I used the Starbursts stamp from HA too.
To make the "fireworks" more realistic, I mixed different colors of embossing powders (clear, pearl, holographic,...), here you have a close up:

I have to say that I prefer normal size cards, but every now and then it's fun to do something different.

New Challenge at ABNH!

Happy New Year everyone!

I hope you all had a great night and that 2013 brings better things to everybody!

So as you can see the new challenge is about trying something new, and I decided to use Smooch Spritz. I had a couple for a while, but I never used them before, so I decided to give them a try for this challenge. Here is my card:

I wanted to use a die cut from Hero Arts to create a mask and then go crazy with the mists, but I didn't like the result I got, and I thought the actual mask looked great with the shine, so that is what I used at the end.
I glued the die cut to the front of an acetate card, and glued it to another card base using dimensionals, so it would create a shadow.
Here is a close up of the card so you can see the shine that the smooch spritz give:

So try a new technique, a new product or a new stamp and play along with our new challenge!
