Hi everyone!
The other day, they posted this great card in the silhouette blog, and I thought that technique would be perfect to use with backgrounds. I decided to give it a go! Engraving! Sooooo much fun, and the possibilities...endless.
Later they showed a tutorial about this technique and although I didn't use the same speed or thickness as the tutorial, it worked perfectly.
Here is the card:
I LOVE this background from Hero Arts, and when I saw the cutting file I was soooo excited, but I thought it would be too intricate for a card ( I was thinking, better for a scrapbook LO).
Well, this technique, perfect for this kind of images. In the silhouette blog they used chalk to ink it, and I have to say that I tried both, and I will share the other card another day, but I love the results with distress inks.
I just inked the paper with different colors of distress inks. Then I stamped the sentiment on vellum that I glued over a piece of white cardstock and then on the card. I used a small circle punch for the panel corners (idea stolen from Jennifer McGuire).
I used some liquid pearls on the center of each flower and added some pearls each side of the sentiment.
Here is a closer look at the engraving:
Thank you for stopping by and if you have a silhouette, give it a go!!!!!
What a neat technique, Cris! Love the effect and gorgeous colors! The Perfect Pearls look beautiful!
