I'm back...He vuelto

Hi everyone!
Wow, it's been a while since I posted here on the blog, sorry about that. Last week I was really busy with some orders, that I will be sharing with you later this week. Apart from that I had to get everything ready for my first cardmaking workshop!!! It was so exciting!!
As I've already mentioned before, cardmaking is not big here, so I've never been to a class, cause there aren't any. Lately scrapbooking is taking off and there are some classes here and there. So a friend asked me if I would like to give a class, and I thought that it was a great idea! Everything I've learned about this hobby has been on the internet, with youtube tutorials or by taking the amazing Online Card Classes. So I made a couple of projects for the class, trying a couple of techniques, but not using many products, because some of the girls that were coming to the class had never heard of "cardmaking". It is more difficult than I thought, to give one of this classes without everybody having a trimmer, but I think they all had a good time and they seemed to really enjoy it and want to learn more (so maybe there are more workshops on my future!).
Here are the projects I showed in class:

Hola!
We started with a spinner card. I just wanted to show them that they can make a card just using scissors, paper and a few punches. This card took longer than I anticipated, but this was a learning expirience for me too. Next we made a little box:

Showed them how to make the box using Michelle's tutorial over at A Blog Named Hero. Then we used lots of distress inks and they had a go at the Cuttlebug and the Big Shot.
And this was meant to be project number 3:

I wanted them to have a go at embossing, cause that is the best thing about cardmaking right? But we run out of time, so I showed them really quick how it works and how you can emboss resist to color an image.
Now I know that next time I should start with embossing so they can all try it.
All in all, I think the class was good but I would love to hear any helpful tips you might have in the comments.
Thanks for stopping by!!

Homework and HA contest... Deberes y Reto HA

Hiya!
You probably already know that another awesome Online Card Class has started, and (as always) it is a good one: Clean and Simple 2.
I took their first CAS class and I loved it, so many great tips. And this second one is going in exactly the same direction. I'm not having a lot of time to play along and do my homework this week cause I'm super busy, but today I'm sharing a single layer card and that is homework for day 2:

Hola!
I decided to use the color combo for this months contest over at Hero Arts.

Just lots of layered stamping on this card, and although I think I would have liked it more without the Gradation stamp on the background, I'm happy with the end result.
I used some the metallic embellishments from HA, they are great! I love them! They are flat, shiny and you can color them using alcohol markers!
There is still a day left to play along with this HA contest, and if you are interested in taking this class, I totally recommend it!

Me encantan!

A color challenge

Hi everyone!
Today I'm sharing a card for yet another challenge. I know, I have been spending a lot of time in the craft room lately, and I'm having so much fun just playing along with as many challenges as I can.
Today's card is for the current Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge, and this week it's a color one:
I had a lot of fun with this color combination:
You still have time to play along, in case you get any crafty time this weekend ;-)
I hope you liked the card and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Linda!

Hi everyone!
Today is Linda's birthday and to celebrate it we have a small blog hop! Yay! You should have got here from Steph's blog, but if you got lost, or you just arrived here by accident, start at Mary Dawn's blog!
When your birthday is in December (with all the holiday stuff stealing your thunder) you should get something extra to make it a bit special, so that's why you are hoping along ;-)
Here is my card for Linda:
I've been wanting to try the faux chalkboard trend for a while now, so this was the perfect opportunity. It took me a couple of tries to get it right, but at the end I got what I wanted, and I probably will be using this technique again, cause it is fun!
If you are gonna give it a go, I suggest you use the stamp press from Fiskars, cause it makes it SO much easier!
So the next stop on the hop is Melissa's blog, and don't forget to stop by Linda's blog to wish her a great day!
Happy Birthday Linda!
