El MRDM... The best challenge in the world ;-)

I've been wanting to write this post for weeks, but as you should know by now, things have been very slow around here. In my family, for the last couple of months we're spending more time at the hospital than at home, and although it's not for anything too serious, it still messes up everything else. And at the end, it's the blog that is paying the price. But I'll get to it, as this is going so late ;-)

At this point, (if you follow any Spanish blogs), you would have heard about the MRDM (best challenge in the world) that Andrea, from 3flowers-retos de tarjetas puts together every year. But you can read everything about it HERE: 

Llevo semanas con esta entrada pendiente, pero como sabeis a estas alturas, las cosas por aqui han estado bastante paradas. En mi familia llevamos un par de meses que pasamos casi más tiempo en el hospital que en casa, y aunque no todo son cosas graves, al final te altera todo y no hay manera de llevar una rutina normal. Y al final el que paga el pato es mi pobre blog que lo tengo super abandonado. Pero bueno, al lio, que si no me enrollo y esto no sale nunca ;-)

A estas alturas ya la mayoria sabreis que es el MRDM (o el Mejor Reto del Mundo) que organiza la increible Andrea, de 3flowers-retos de tarjetas. Supongo que habreis visto tarjetas y puntos de libros por todas partes para este reto, pero si no es asi, pasaros por AQUI, que ella os lo explica todo perfectamente:

This year is in memoriam of Rosa Bueno, Andrea's really good friend that left us a few months ago. In THIS post, Andrea tells you the story, but I warn you now that you'll probably cry, as she's written it beautifully.
For those of you that still have no clue what I'm talking about, this challenge is about making cards and bookmarks for the Hospital Sant Joan de Deu, to celebrate National Book Day. The bookmarks are for the children that are staying at the hospital, and the cards will be sold in the hospital shop to raise money. Every year the scrap community here has exceded expectations, and it looks like this year it was no different.
And here is my colaboration... the few things I could make between hospital days:

Ademas este año, es en memoria de Rosa Bueno, una muy buena amiga de Andrea que nos dejo hace unos meses. En ESTA entrada, Andrea os cuenta mejor su historia y os aviso que si no la habeis leido aun, os sacará una lagrimilla, porque Andrea ha puesto todo su corazon en esa entrada... y en esta edición del MRDM.
Para las que aún así no teneis ni idea de que estoy hablando, este reto consiste en crear marcapáginas y tarjetas que se entregaran en el Hospital Sant Joan de Deu para celebrar el dia del libro. Los marcapaginas seran para los niños que estan alli ingresados ese dia, y las tarjetas se venderan en la tienda del hospital para recaudar dinero. Asi que no me extraña que esta comunidad scrapera se vuelque para apoyar una causa de este tipo.
Y bueno, aqui esta mi colaboracion... vamos, lo poquito que pude hacer entre dias de hospital:

A couple of cards and a bookmark, all very simple, but I had a great time making them. I still wanted to participate more with the challenge even if I didn't have enough time to make anything new, but I searched through my card stash and this is what I sent:

Unas tarjetas y un marca sencillitos, pero con los que me lo pase pipa, la verdad. Pero queria mandar más tarjetas, ya que total, tengo una montaña esperando que las meta en sobres y se las envie a alguien, asi que esto fue lo que envie:

So another 17 cards and 1 bookmark that are on the way and I hope they help bring a smile to somebody that is not having the best time right now.
And don't worry if you missed it, because I'm sure next year there would be another MRDM as amazing as this one ;-)

Asi que 17 tarjetas y un marcapaginas que se suman a este reto y que espero le saquen una sonrisa a alguien que no esté pasando su mejor momento.

Sunset at the beach... Atardecer en la playa

I'm back today with another card, although this one is... how can I say it... cheating? ;-) I made this card months and months ago for a collaboration with Beth Opel, (who I adore!) and our cards were picked up for publication. But then, the magazine was "closed?" and I never shared it. So it's the perfect oportunity, as it has a gradient, yay!!!

Hoy estoy de vuelta con otra tarjeta, aunque esta es... como decirlo... un poco trampa? ;-) Hice esta tarjeta hace meses para una colaboracion con Beth Opel, (a la que adoro!) y nuestras tarjetas fueron elegidas para publicacion. Pero resulta que la revista "cerró" y aun no la habia compartido. Asi que esta es la ocasion perfecta, ya que tiene gradiente! Siiii!

To make this gradient I used cardstock, and it worked out perfectly. Then I added the die cut palm trees panel over the top with the embossed sentiment, and that's it! 

Para crear este gradiente he utilizado cartulina de diferentes colores, y ha funcionado a la perfeccion. Despues añadí el panel con el troquelado de las palmeras que hice con la Silhouette, y el mensaje embosado en blanco. Y ya esta!

Gold Thanks...Gracias Doradas

I'm back today with another thank you card to continue with this week of thanks. For today's card I used my Silhouette and a gold foil cardstock that I looooove!

Estoy de vuelta hoy con otra tarjeta de gracias para continuar con el tema de la semana. Para la tarjeta de hoy he utilizado mi Silhouette y una cartulina dorada que me tiene loquita!

I went for a huge thanks that I cut with my silhouette, and to make sure I glued the letters in the correct place, I kept the negative from my Silhouette to make it easier. Then I added a strip of vellum with "so much" stamped on it with StazOn, and added a couple of enamel dots for a touch of color. 
I love how that cardstock shines!

Quería utilizar unas letras grandisimas que recorté con mi Silhouette, y para asegurarme que las colocaba espaciadas correctamente, conservé el negativo de la cartulina y las fuí pegando tipo puzzle. Despues añadí la tira de vellum con el "so much" estampado con StazOn, y unos puntos de enamel para darle un toque de color.
¡Me encanta como brilla esa cartulina!

A week of thanks... Una semana de gracias

As you probably already know, this week they celebrate Thanksgiving in the USA. We don't celebrate it here, but I thought it would be a great opportunity to take a small break on the Holiday cards and share some thank you cards. And maybe have a little surprise at some point ;-)

So here is the card for today:

Como seguramente ya sabreis, esta semana se celebrará Acción de Gracias. Aquí no lo celebramos, pero pensé que estaría bien aprovechar la oportunidad para tomarnos un descanso de tarjetas navideñas esta semana, y compartir tarjetas de gracias. Y a lo mejor tener alguna sorpresita en algun momento ;-)

Aqui esta la tarjeta de hoy:

Get ready for a lot of gold this week, cause I couldn't put it down ;-) For this card I used the Bubble stencil from Tim Holtz, with embossing paste, and then I covered it with gold glitter embossing powder. When it dried I melted the powder and it looks so pretty against the dark brown cardstock. That thanks is a cut file from Hero Arts for the Silhouette. I cut it out of white cardstock and then covered it with glossy accents to give it some shine.

Preparaos para mucho oro esta semana, porque no podia dejar de usarlo ;-) Para esta tarjeta he utilizado el stencil Bubble de Tim Holtz con pasta de embossing que he cubierto con polvos de embossing dorados con purpurina. Una vez se secó la pasta derretí los polvos, y me encanta como brillan contra la cartulina marron del fondo. El thanks es un archivo de corte de Hero Arts para la Silhouette. Lo corté en cartulina blanca y luego lo cubrí con glossy accents para que brillara.

2014 at 3flowers... 2014 en 3flowers

Today we are starting a new challenge at 3flowers-retos de tarjetas, and I had so much fun with this one. Andrea's challenges are always fun and this one surprised me when she told us. This time we have to use the numbers 2, 0, 1 and 4, but it can't be a Christmasy card! Here is my take on the challenge:

Hoy comienza un nuevo reto en 3flowers-retos de tarjetas, y me he divertido mucho con este. Los retos que se le ocurren a Andrea siempre son una pasada, pero este me dejo sorprendida cuando nos lo dijo. Esta vez teneis que utilizar los numeros 2, 0, 1 y 4, pero no puede ser una tarjeta navideña! Y aqui esta lo que se me ocurrió a mi:

I used a number die cut from the Silhouette store, that I die cut out of white cardstock. Then using some distress inks, sprays and water I colored it. After I dried it I added some white dots with a pigment ink.
I thought the colors were perfect for a masculine card, and I decided to do a "love" card ;-)
I decorated the card base with a number border stamp from Kelly Purkey, and I used the polaroid frame from Lawn Fawn to make the numbers the focal point of this card.
Now you should go check out the blog, because the girls made some amazing cards with this fun challenge. Seriously amazing! And play along too ;-)

He utilizado un archivo de corte de numeros de la Silhouette, y lo corte en cartulina blanca. Despues, utilizando tintas distress, sprays y agua lo coloreé. Una vez se secó, añadí unos puntitos con tinta de pigmento blanca.
Me pareció que los colores eran perfectos para una tarjeta masculina, asi que me decidí por una tarjeta de "amor" ;-)
Para decorar la base de la tarjeta, utilicé un sello de borde de numeros de Kelly Purkey, y con el marco de la polaroid de Lawn Fawn, le dí protagonismo a los números.
Ahora no puedes dejar de pasar por el blog, porque las chicas han preparado unas tarjetas espectaculares para este reto. Increibles de verdad! Y por supuesto, no dejeis de participar ;-)

Tree Challenge... Reto Arbol

We are starting a new challenge at 3flowers - retos de tarjetas. And this time we ask you to use a TREE, but not a Christmas tree ;-) We are not starting with Christmas just yet over there! And here is my card:

Hoy comienza un nuevo reto en 3flowers - retos de tarjetas. Y esta vez te pedimos que utilices un ARBOL, peeeeero no puede ser un árbol Navideño ;-) Aun no empezamos la Navidad en 3flowers! Aquí os dejo mi tarjeta:

When Andrea told us we couldn't use a Christmas tree, I was like... "What?, No Christmas?" So it was a bit hard to come up with this card, but I kind of like how it turned out. I wanted to use a tree silhouette, but I didn't want to use black. I decided to use soft colors, so I created a background with distress inks.
The sentiment is from La Pareja Creativa ;-)

Cuando Andrea nos dijo que no podíamos utilizar un árbol Navideño, me quede como... "¿Qué? No puede ser Navideño?" :-O Así que me costó un poco empezar esta tarjeta, pero una vez terminada no me disgusta. Me decidí por una silueta de un árbol, pero no quería hacerla en negro. Así que me decidí por colores claros, y un fondo suavecito que hice con tintas distress.
La frase es de La Pareja Creativa ;-)

Quería pasarme por aquí para enseñaros el nuevo reto de A Blog Named Hero, y esta es mi tarjeta:

This time for the challenge you have to use patterned paper. I decided to use that super cute cutting file from Hero Arts for the Silhouette, that I thought was perfect for a baby card. And because this month we are collaborating with Winnie & Walter, I got to use that gorgeous sentiment set: The Big, the Bold and the Happy. Love it!!!!

Para este reto tenéis que utilizar papeles decorados. Decidí utilizar el archivo de corte de la nube de Hero Arts para la Silhouette, que me pareció perfecto para una tarjeta de bebe. Y como este mes estamos colaborando con Winnie & Walter, he podido utilizar el set The Big, the Bold and the Happy, que me encanta!

I cut the cloud file out of yellow cardstock too, to make the stars stand out.

Shaker Challenge... Reto Shaker

Today I'm participating in the wednesday challenge at Simon Says Stamp Blog. When I saw they asked for shakers, I just had to play along. Here is my card:

Hoy estoy participando en el reto de los miercoles de Simon Says Stamp. Cuando ví que pedian tarjetas shakers, tenía que hacer una. Aquí esta mi tarjeta:

In this shaker I used "sand" inside the window, as this is a summer card. And I said "sand" because it isn't real, I didn't have any on hand, so I used breadcrums ;-)
Here is a close up:

En esta shaker he utilizado "arena" dentro de la ventanita, ya que es una tarjeta veraniega. Y he dicho "arena" porque no es de verdad, ya que no tenia ninguna a mano, así que utilicé pan rallado ;-)

For the speech bubble I used my silhouette and some acetate. And I love those papers from Studio Calico.
