Better late than never, right? Last week the last challenge of the season started at 3flowers-retos de tarjetas. This has been a very busy season for me and I didn't get to enjoy the time with the flowers as much as I would have liked. I have to thank Andrea for being so patient and understanding, she really is the best!
Now onto the challenge... you have to make a postcard. Isn't that a great challenge? Love it! And here you can see what I made:
Mejor tarde que nunca, verdad? La semana pasada comenzó el ultimo reto de la temporada en 3flowers-retos de tarjetas. Esta ha sido una temporada bastante loca para mi y no he podido disfrutar de los retos y mis compis tanto como me hubiera gustado. Asi que tengo que darle mil gracias a Andrea por ser tan paciente y comprensiva, es que es la mejor!
Y bueno, a por el reto... esta vez hay que crear una postal. No es un reto genial? Me encanta! Y aqui va mi propuesta:
I wanted it to be flat like a postcard, so I did a looooot of masking on this one. I used my distress inks to create this scene and it was a lot of fun. I colored the little boat with copic markers, and white embossed the sentiment over the sea.
As it's meant to be a postcard, I had to decorate the back too:
Queria que fuera plana como una postal, asi que tuve que enmascarar un monton de cositas en esta tarjeta. Utilicé las tintas distress para crear esta escena y fue super divertido. El barquito lo coloreé con rotuladores copic, y el mensaje esta embosado en blanco sobre el mar. Como se supone que es una posta, también tenia que decorar la parte trasera:
I used an old stamp from Hero Arts as a postage stamp with another message. Then I added some stamped lines for the address and a line with some hearts.
I love how this one turned out, and I kind of want to make more of this ;-)

He utilizado un sello antiguo de Hero Arts como si fuera el sello de la postal y que incluye un mensaje extra. Despues he añadido unas lineas estampadas para escribir la direccion, y otra linea con unos corazoncitos.
Me encanta como ha quedado esta postal, y la verdad es que me apetece volver a probar este formato de nuevo ;-)

I'm back around here with another hop using SSS card kit. I have a lot of things to share around here, so get ready for many posts the next few days. But now it's time for the hop and here is my card:

Estoy de vuelta por aqui con el salto de blogs utilizando el kit tarjetero de SSS. Tengo muchas cositas que compartir por aqui, asi que prepararos para unas cuantas entradas en los proximos dias. Pero ahora es hora de saltar y aqui va mi tarjeta:
This time I wanted to use the cute sequins that come with the kit, and I thought of making a shaker that looks like a rainbow. Or at least that was my intention ;-) I wanted the rainbow to go all the way to the edge and to be a see through window, so I made a pocket with acetate that I packed with the sequins.
Esta vez queria utilizar las lentejuelas que vienen en el kit, y se me ocurrio crear una shaker que pareciera un arco iris. O por lo menos esa era mi intencion ;-) Queria que el arco iris llegará hasta el borde y que fuera como una ventana al interior de la tarjeta, asi que creé un bolsillo de acetato que rellene con las lentejuelas.
For the rest of the card, I stamped the clouds and sun without the faces (definately my favorites from teh kit) And I added a sentiment from an old card kit from SSS that I thought worked with the card. Of course, I had to add a strip of one of the papers from the kit. I used some distress inks and an ink applicator to shade the sun and a bit of the blue cardstock as well.
So just in case you forgot what the kit looks like, here is a picture of the complete kit:
Para el resto de la tarjeta, he estampado las nubes y el sol sin las caritas (definitivamente han sido mis favoritos del kit) Y he añadido un mensaje de uno de los antiguos kits de SSS que me parecia quedaba bien con el resto de la tarjeta. Por supuesto, tenía que añadir una tira de una de los papeles del kit. Y tambien he utilizado tintas distress y esponja para sombrear el sol y un poco la cartulina azul.

I didn't have a lot of time to play with the kit this week, as my dad is back at the hospital, so that's why I'm running a bit late with this post :-)
I wanted to concentrate in the stamp set and get out my watercolor markers for a soft watercolor look. A very quick card, where I used the super cute papers to frame the scene:

Queria concentrarme en el set de sellos y utilizar los rotus acuarelables para darle ese look. Una tarjeta rapidita, donde he utilizado los papeles tan monos que vienen en el kit para enmarcar la escena:

It's time to get back to the challenges at 3flowers-retos de tarjetas after a very successful run at "The Best Challenge in the World". And Andrea must love number 3, cause she suggested doing 3 kinds of embossing in one card for this week's challenge, so dry embossing, heat embossing and embossing paste, and here is my card:
Llega la hora de seguir con los retos en 3flowers-retos de tarjetas despues del exitazo que ha sido "El Mejor Reto del Mundo". Y yo creo que a Andrea le encanta el número 3, porque para el reto de esta semana nos pide que utilicemos 3 tipos de embossing: embossing en frio, embossing en caliente, y pasta de embossing. Y aqui va mi tarjeta:
Let's start by saying that you won't have to use the 3 kinds of embossing in your card... 1 or 2 would do, but you would get extra points for using the 3 kinds ;-)
For my dry embossing I used acetate and an embossing folder, and I looooove the texture!!!!
Primero aclararos que si os animais a participar, no es necesario que utiliceis los 3 metodos de embossing en vuestra tarjeta... 1 o 2 vale, pero os llevais puntos extra si utilizais los 3 ;-)
Para el embossing en frio he utilizado acetato y una carpeta de embossing, y me encaaaanta la textura!!!!
So I added the acetate panel to the side of a blue card base. And to cover where they meet, I used the two strips of paper.
Here is my heat embossing ;-) White heat embossed stars over blue cardstock.
And then I added a circle of dark blue cardstock that had my embossing paste.
I used a circles stencil from La Pareja Creativa, and then I added my sentiment on top. I used a die from Simon Says Stamp that I die cut on cardstock and fun foam to give it dimension.
Asi que añadí el panel de acetato en el lateral de una base de tarjeta azul. Y cubrí la unión entre los dos, con dos tiras de cartulina.
Aqui es donde va mi embossing en caliente ;-) Las estrellas blancas estan embosadas sobre cartulina azul.
Y entonces preparé el circulo de cartulina azul oscura que lleva la pasta de embossing.
He utilizado un stencil de circulos de La Pareja Creativa con la pasta, y encima he añadido el mensaje. Para ello he troquelado el "hello" de Simon Says Stamp en cartulina y en goma eva para darle dimension.
I have to say that when Andrea told us about this challenge I thought nothing decent was gonna come out, but I kind of like how it turned out ;-)
