WCMD challenges at Ellen Hutson

Hello!
First of all, I want to drop a quick thank you for the sweet comments to yesterday's post. That's why this crafting community rocks!

Now, time to share a card. As you all know for sure, this past weekend was World Card Making Day, and there were many celebrations and challenges everywhere, so I spent most of my weekend in the craft room playing along with some of them.
At Ellen Hutson, they had a group of challenges that caught my eye, so the card I am sharing is for Challenge #5: the trend watch challenge.
I decided to use the hexagon trend and my Silhouette to create this shaped card. I absolutely love that shape, so I probably will be using it again in other cards!
I used the silhouette to cut everything on this card. The holly and the sentiment are die cuts from Hero Arts that I cut out of white paper and colored using distress inks.
To color the card base, I used Iced Spruce, and stamped over it the Magical Background using the same ink. Then I decided I wanted the center of the hexagon to be lighter, so I cut a vellum hexagon to tone it down.
I glued everything together and added some glossy accents to the berries and the sentiment to finish it off.
I hope you liked the card and I'll be back later with another one!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Getting used to it...

Hi everyone!

Just so you know, this is not gonna be a crafty post, just some sharing, but first of all, I wanted to thank everyone for the lovely comments on my Lawnscaping's hop entry! You are all so nice! Thank you!!!

I wanted to write this post, because I felt like I needed to share it here. If you follow me on twitter, you probably already know that we had to say goodbye to our other cat (Pepi) last week.
We knew Pepi had cancer since December, and after a couple of surgeries, we just couldn't do anything else for her. It was heartbreaking to go through it again, and I'm gonna miss her like crazy, specially cause she followed me around all the time.
She was the kind of cat that would ask for your attention, but ignore you completely when you wanted hers, so a "typical" cat.
I think this is the first time in my entire life that I don't have any kind of pets, so I'm trying to get used to it, but it's hard because the house just seems empty.
Anyway, thanks for "listening" to my ramblings, and before I go, here is one of my favorite pictures of Pepi. Maybe it makes you smile too!
I will be back later with some cards! Thanks!

Welcome to the Lawnscaping blog hop!!!!

Hi everyone and welcome to the Lawnscaping blog hop!
You should have come to me from Mel's blog, she is awesome! If you got here by accident, and want to start from the beginning, go to the Lawnscaping's blog! The theme for this hop is Fall, and this time, I decided to make something a bit different:
The idea behind the hop is to make something inspired by the photo. So I decided to go for fall colors, grass, leaves and super cute animals. And I made this adorable gift bags. We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here, in Spain, but I guess they would be perfect as a gift for your family.
Here are individual pics:

Those critters are so adorable! I just used my silhouette to cut the boxes, and then there was lots of stamping, coloring and fussy cutting. I hate fussy cutting!!!! LOL!
When I first saw the picture for the hop, I thought the barn was gorgeous, and I wanted to try something, so I made a card:
I wanted to try to color the halloween house, from Lawn Fawn, making it look "not scary". It's a very simple card, cause I wanted to keep all the attention on the house.
If you have any questions about the projects, just ask in the comment section and I'll get back to you.

Now, the blog hop will run from Friday, October 5th to Sunday, October 7th. Leave a comment on all the blogs to be eligable for a prize.  The winners will be chosen via random.org and announced on Monday, October 8th.

To find out what you can win, check it out at the Lawnscaping blog!

Next, head on to Amy's blog! , her cards are gorgeous! And if you got lost, or you just want to start from the beginning, head over to the Lawnscaping blog to see the complete list of participants.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you liked it!!!

Challenge #13 at ABNH

Hello!
It's time for another challenge at A Blog Named Hero, and as always is sponsored by the awesome Simon Says Stamp.
The challenge this time is to use only white cardstock, no patterned paper or color cardstock allowed:
I have to say that I thought this challenge would be easier than it turned out to be. But here is my card:
I wanted to try making my own background using die cuts for a long time, and I felt this was the perfect opportunity.
I started by masking the bottom of the card and stamping the Envelope Background using Raspberry Jam. That's one of the new mid-tone inks from Hero Arts, and it's gorgeous!!!!!
I used my Cuttlebug and a die to cut all the shapes, that I then glued to the front of the card.
Stamped the sentiment using the same ink, and added some Glitter Ribbon from May Arts. Love that ribbon! Here is a close up, look how it shines!!
To finish it off, I just added some rhinestones.
So go over to the blog to check the list of supplies for this card and the rest of the cards from the amazing DT girls. And don't forget to play along with the challenge!!!
Thanks for stopping by!
