Dots and Stripes... Rayas y Lunares

There's a new challenge at 3flowers-retos de tarjetas and this time we ask you to use dots and stripes in your card. Here is mine:

I might have gone a bit crazy with the dots, but I thought the card needed it ;-)

A lo mejor me volví un poco loca añadiendo lunares, pero me parecía que la tarjeta lo "necesitaba" jeje.

Publications... Publicaciones

Some of you might know that today was Star Wars Day, and if this is totally new information for you, you need to put a geek in your life ;-) In my case, my hubby is the geek, so that's where I get all my knowledge, LOL!

And you are probably wondering why I'm talking about all of these. Well, I've been wanting to share something very important to me here for a long time. But I wasn't sure if I could share it, how to share it... Anyway, as the title of the post says, this is all about publications.

I've been really lucky about this for a while, and I thought it was time I started to share some of my published cards here. And today is the best day to share one of my first publications:

Algunos de vosotros ya sabréis que hoy era el día de "La guerra de las galaxias", y si no tenias ni idea, necesitas poner a un friki en tu vida ;-) En mi caso, el friki es mi marido, y de ahí saco toda la información, jeje.
Probablemente te estarás preguntando a que viene todo esto. Bueno, el caso es que llevo un tiempo queriendo compartir algo importante aquí en el blog, pero no sabía ni como hacerlo, ni si podía hacerlo, ... Pero bueno, como dice el titulo del post, estoy hablando de publicaciones.
Últimamente he tenido mucha suerte, y han elegido varias de mis tarjetas para publicarlas en revistas, y ya iba siendo hora de compartir alguna de ellas en el blog. Y hoy era el mejor día para enseñaros una de ellas:

This is my card!!! I was SO excited when I had the magazine in my hands. This was the first call that I got cards picked up, and it was 8 of them. I was over the moon! 

This is the Card Creations for Him magazine from Paper Crafts. It was out in November, but the designs in there can be used all year round. Here you can see a sneak peek. And here is where you can buy it.
So that's it for today, I'll try to share more publications every now and then, and if you haven't tried yet, you should submit some of your cards, cause it is a lot of fun!

¡Esta es mi tarjeta! Estaba TAN emocionada cuando por fin tuve la revista en mis manos. Esta fue la primera revista en la que me publicaron, y eligieron 8 tarjetas mías. ¡Estaba como loca!
La revista de la que os estoy hablando es "Card Creations for Him" de Paper Crafts. Salió el pasado Noviembre, pero tiene diseños para todo el año. AQUÍ podéis ver un poquito de la revista. Y AQUÍ es donde podéis comprarla.
Así que esto es todo por hoy. Intentaré compartir más publicaciones de vez en cuando, y si aún no os habéis animado a probar, participad en las llamadas a publicación, porque son super divertidas!

May Challenge... Reto de Mayo

It's the start of a new month, and the beginning of a new challenge at La Pareja Creativa. This month you have to use flowers in your project, and here is my card:

Comienza nuevo mes, y también el nuevo reto de La Pareja Creativa. Este mes tienes que utilizar flores en tu proyecto, y aquí teneis mi tarjeta:

I love this solid roses and I wanted to use them with this technique. I first stamped them on kraft cardstock using white pigment ink, and then I stamped them slightly askew using pink dye ink. That way you get a lot of dimension and a darker border. I masked the flowers to stamp the leaves, and added the flower centers with a dark pink ink.
I stamped part of the sentiment and added the die cut word. Here are a couple of close ups:

Me gustan mucho estas flores solidas y quería probarlas con esta técnica. 
Primero estampé las flores en papel Kraft utilizando tinta de pigment blanca, y seguido las volví a estampar encima, un poquito movidas, utilizando tinta dye rosa. De esta manera consigues mucha dimensión en las flores y tienen un borde más oscuro. Despues enmascaré las flores para poder añadir las hojas, y estampé los centros de las flores utilizando una tinta rosa oscura.
Estampé el cumpleaños y añadí el troquel de feliz. Aqui teneis más detalles:

Bicycles challenge... Reto de bicicletas

It's time for a new challenge at 3flowers - retos de tarjetas, and this time we are asking you to use a bicycle in your card. Here is mine:

Hoy empieza un nuevo reto en 3flowers - retos de tarjetas, y esta vez teneis que utilizar una bicicleta en vuestra tarjeta. Aquí esta la mia:

I didn't have any bike stamps, papers or embellishments, so I obviously went with my Silhouette. I saw this tandem image, and I loved it, isn't it cute?
I created a sunset with my distress inks and adhere the die cuts on top.
Added a piece of patterned paper, some twine and enamel dots, and a sentiment from La Pareja Creativa that says "What would I do without you?"

No soy yo muy de bicis, así que no tenía ni sellos, ni papeles, ni adornos, así que utilicé mi Silhouette. Ví esta imagen de la bici tandem, y me encantó, ¿A que es una monada?
Creé una escena con un atardecer utilizando tintas distress. Añadí un papel de Lawn Fawn, un cordel turquesa y unos puntos de enamel. Y lo terminé con una frase de La Pareja Creativa que me pareció perfecta para esta tarjeta.

We did it!... ¡Lo conseguimos!

A couple of weeks ago I shared a post here about "The best challenge in the world", and I wanted to give you an update. We did it! We wanted to collect 250 bookmarks for the children at the hospital, and right now we are at 406 bookmarks, and there are more still coming. We collected 639 cards too, to sell in their shop. Isn't that crazy? 
So I realised I never shared here the rest of the bookmarks I made and the cards I sent, so here they are:

Hace un par de semanas os hablé del "Mejor Reto del Mundo", y quería contaros como va la cosa. ¡Lo hemos conseguido! Queriamos llegar a 250 puntos de libro para los niños del hospital, y ahora mismo tenemos 406 puntos, y aún faltan por llegar. También tenemos 639 tarjetas que venderan en la tienda. ¿A que es una locura?
El caso es que me he dado cuenta que se me había olvidado compartir el resto de los marcapáginas que hice y las tarjetas que envié, asi que aqui estan:

I've already shared all of the cards on the blog before, just the bookmarks are "new" ;-)
I have to say that I really enjoyed this challenge, and I just wish we could get a little peek at everyone at the hospital when they receive all those cards and bookmarks. And I can't wait to do it all over again next year :-) I want to thank everybody that played along and Andrea for making it happen.

When I saw those cute cork houses from Freckled Fawn I just had to use them on my card. I created the little scene with the polaroid and distress inks and that sentiment from Hero Arts was just perfect for this card.

Cuando ví las casitas de corcho de Freckled Fawn tenía que utilizarla en mi tarjeta. Creé una escena con el marco de la polaroid y tintas distress y esa frase de Hero Arts es perfecta para esta tarjeta.

So I just wanted to mention here that I shared some cards at ABNH over the weekend.
Hero Arts released their new catalog and the new stamps and stencils are amazing!
If you own a Silhouette, some of the new designs are already available as a cutting file, and I had a lot of fun playing with them. Here is a sneak peek:

Solo quería mencionar aqui que compartí el otro día unas tarjetas en ABNH.
Hero Arts ha sacado el nuevo catálogo, y los nuevos sellos y plantillas son increibles!
