Today I have a simple card for you using vellum and one of my favorite techniques: coloring it!

Hoy traigo una tarjeta simple utilizando papel vegetal y una de mis tecnicas favoritas: colorearlo!
I started by coloring a piece of vellum with a rainbow of Promarkers. To help them blend better, I dab with my finger or a rag where the two colors meet. Then let it dry, turn it around, and emboss the Happy Birthday on the side that isn't colored. Glue the vellum piece to two pieces of white cardstock, and cut it to fit the front of a card. Glue it with foam dimensionals, adding small pieces behind the embossed letters, so the vellum doesn't sink in.
Then color the wood veneer stars with a permanent marker and glue them with Glossy Accents. To finish it off I hand drew some lines to frame the card.

Empece coloreando una tira de papel vegetal con un arco iris de Promarkers. Para que el paso de un color a otro sea mas suave, utilizando el dedo o un trapo, los mezclo dando unos golpecitos donde se unen. Despues deja que se seque, dale la vuelta y estampa con polvos de relieve el "Happy Birthday" en el lado que no esta coloreado. Pega el papel vegetal a dos pedazos de cartulina blanca, y cortalo un poco mas pequeño que el frente de la tarjeta. Añadelo con dimensionales, poniendo pequeños trocitos detras de las letras, para evitar que se hunda el papel vegetal.
Colorea las estrellas de madera con un rotulador permanente y pegalas con Glossy Accents. Para terminar la tarjeta, dibuja unas lineas para enmarcar la tarjeta.

Unless you have been living under a rock, you know neon is very trendy in the crafting world right now. Although the picture doesn't show it very well (if anybody has tips on how to get neon on pics better, please leave it in the comments) here is my neon card:
A no ser que hayas estado viviendo debajo de una roca, deberias saber que los colores fluorescentes estan muy de moda en el mundo de las tarjetas. Aunque la foto casi no lo muestra (si tienes algun truquillo de como sacar mejores fotos a colores neon, por favor, dejamelo en los comentarios), aqui esta mi tarjeta con neon:
Using a musical notes cutting file for the Silhouette, I added lots of them in different sizes and at different angles, radiating from the star. I cut them out of white cardstock, and behind them, I glued pieces of neon colored cardstock (orange, yellow, green and blue). Added the stamped star with foam dimensionals, and glued everything to the front of a black card.
It looks much brighter in real life :-(

Utilizando un archivo de corte de notas musicales para la Silhouette, añadi varias notas en diferentes tamaños y en angulos diferentes, que radian de la estrella. Las corte en cartulina blanca, y por detras, les pegue cartulinas de colores fluorescentes (naranja, amarillo, verde y azul). Añadi la estrella estampada con dimensionales de espuma, y pegue todo en una tarjeta negra.
Es mucho mas brillante en la realidad que en la foto :-(

It's time for a new challenge at A Blog Named Hero, and I love it: Vellum!!

Llego la hora de un nuevo reto en A Blog Named Hero, y me encanta: Papel Vegetal!!
I really like using vellum in my cards, for sentiments, or whole images, embossed, colored or just to tone down a piece of pattern paper. And here is what I made with it for the challenge:
Utilizo mucho papel vegetal en mis tarjetas, para las frases, o imagenes enteras, en relieve, coloreado o simplemente para que un papel chillon no lo sea tanto. Y aqui esta lo que he hecho para el reto:
That is still one of my favorite stamps from Hero Arts. So I started by embossing it on a piece of Pool cardstock and on a piece of vellum. I hand cut the flowers, and adding a bit of Glossy Accents over the embossed lines, I glued the flowers down. I wanted them to have some dimension, so I didn't add any glue on the edges. It looks so elegant in real life!
For the sentiment, I used some flair from "A Flair For Buttons". That woodgrain collection is just gorgeous! I wanted to have more woodgrain on the card, but none of my pattern papers were right, so I used the Wood Veneer Paper from Simon Says Stamp, and I colored it with a promarker to match the flair. So easy and I love it!

Este es todavia uno de mis sellos favoritos de Hero Arts. Para empezar lo estampe en relieve (embossing) en cartulina Pool de Hero Arts, y en papel vegetal. Corte las flores del papel vegetal, y añadiendo un poco de Glossy Accents a las lineas de embossing, pegue las flores en la cartulina.Queria que tendrian algo de dimension, asi que no pegue los bordes. Queda tan elegante!
Para la frase, he utilizado una chapa (flair) de la tienda "A Flair for Buttons". Su coleccion de madera es genial! Queria tener mas madera en la tarjeta, asi que utilice el papel de madera de Simon Says Stamp, y lo coloree con un promarker para que los colores coordinaran. Super facil y me encanta!

I love how this card looks in real life, lots of dimension! I used 3 shades of yellow cardstock from Bazzill to create the rays, that you put together in the card like a puzzle.
