Gold and Sequins... Oro y Lentejuelas

I'm back today with a card that follows a couple of trends: gold and sequins. I bought a gold embossing powder from Wow, and it is gorgeous! Here is the card:

Love how sparkly it is! Added some trendy sequins to the center of the flowers to finish it off. Here is a close up of the embossing powder:

Me encanta como brilla! Le añadi unas lentejuelas como centro de las flores para terminarla. Aqui tienes un primer plano del embossing:

At the beach... En la playa

Today the weather was really bad, and the internet connection was ok, so I decided to get a couple of posts ready for you.
Lately I've been submitting a lot of cards to magazines.I've been very lucky and a lot of my cards are going to be published, but I still have a lot of rejects, so it's time to share them. Here is today's card:

Hola!
Hoy el tiempo no ha sido bueno, pero la conexion a internet no estaba mal, asi que he decidido preparar unos cuantos posts.
Ultimamente he estado presentando muchas tarjetas para publicacion en revistas. He tenido bastante suerte y van a publicarme unas cuantas, pero asi y todo aun me quedan muchas por compartir que no fueron elegidas, asi que las ire colgando en el blog poco a poco. Aqui teneis la primera:

I made this one a couple of months ago for a call that asked you to use things from the kitchen. And what did I use? Breadcrums. They make the perfect sand, so just add Matte Medium, and layers of breadcrums.
The sandals are die cut from Hero Arts, and for the water I just used ripped cardstock.
So this one is a card for the summer! ;-)

Hice esta hace un par de meses para una llamada que pedia que utilizaramos cosas de la cocina. Asi que ¿Que utilice? Pan rallado. Es perfecto para crear arena, simplemente añade un pegamento sin brillo y que seque transparente, como el Matte Medium de Ranger, y capas y capas de pan rallado.
Las sandalias son un archivo de corte de Hero Arts para la Silhouette, y para el agua, utilice cartulina rota para que se viera el color blanco de dentro.
Asi que esta es una tarjeta veraniega! ;-)

Homework... Deberes

Hi everyone!
Today I have a bit of homework for you. I've been taking the latest Online Card Class, Summer Card Camp 2. But I've been really busy and I didn't have time to actually play along. That changed today and here is my card:

Hoy traigo mis deberes. Estoy apuntada a la ultima clase de Online Card Classes, llamada Summer Card Camp 2. Pero he estado bastante ocupada y no he podido participar todavia. Eso ha cambiado hoy y aqui esta mi tarjeta:

I used this week's color combo, and I was inspired by the 3rd sketch today (you'll hopefully recognize it if you are taking the class) but I turned it upside down.
I used a technique that Jennifer McGuire has been using a lot lately, first I stamped my flowers with white pigment ink, and on top of this, I stamped again using dye or pigment ink. Love the look you get on the flowers, specially over kraft cardstock.

He utilizado la combinacion de colores de esta semana y me he inspirado en el tercer sketch de hoy (espero que si estas tomando la clase, lo reconozcas) pero lo he puesto boca abajo.
He utilizado una tecnica que Jennifer McGuire esta utilizando mucho ultimamente, primero estampe las flores con tinta de pigmento blanca, y encima de esta, la estampo otra vez, utilizando tinta dye o pigmento. Me encanta el efecto que les da a las flores, especialmente sobre cartulina kraft.

Challenge 28 at ABNH... Reto 28 en ABNH

Para la mia, me he inspirado en Kelly Rasmussen:

A couple of months ago, Kelly made a couple of cards with an awesome technique, and I loved them! So I had to give it a go. You have a video over there, showing you how to achieve that "ombre" effect using watercolors, but I used my distress inks with water. For my sentiment, I stamped half of it with stazOn ink over the watercolor piece, and embossed the other half over the card front. Added a couple of enamel dots and some faux stitching to finish it off.

Hace un par de meses, Kelly hizo un par de tarjetas con una tecnica preciosa, y me encantaron! Asi que tenia que probarla. Ella publico un video, enseñando como conseguir el efecto "gradiente" o efecto "ombre" utilizando acuarelas, pero yo he utilizado una tinta distress y agua. Para la frase "you make me smile", estampe la mitad con tinta permanente StazOn sobre el panel del gradiente, y la otra mitad lo estampe sobre el frente de la tarjeta y utilice polvos de embossing blancos. Añadi un par de perlas de enamel (no tienen brillo) y unas puntadas con boli blanco para terminarla.

My little challenge at ABNH... Mi pequeño reto en ABNH

Hi everyone!
I know, I said I was gonna stick around and blog more often, and I disapeared again! I'm a bad blogger :-( 
The thing is I was ill for a couple of weeks with a throat infection, that went wrong and moved to my lungs and ears. So I was a mess! But the medicines worked and I finally feel much better!
I've been trying to catch up with all my deadlines and the things that have been going on in the crafting world, but it's practically impossible. But today is my turn at ABNH and I decided to challenge myself a little bit (Yes, I know, I'm crazy)

Ya, lo se, dije que estaria por aqui mas a menudo, y desapareci otra vez! Soy una bloggera malisimaaaa! :-(
La cosa es que estuve enferma un par de semanas con una infeccion de garganta, que se complico, y se extendio a los pulmones y los oidos. Asi que estaba hecha una pena! Pero las medicinas por fin funcionaron y ya me encuentro mejor!
He estado intentando ponerme al dia de todo lo que tenia que hacer y lo que ha ido ocurriendo en el mundo de las tarjetas, pero es practicamente imposible. Aun asi, hoy es mi turno en ABNH, y decidi ponerme un pequeño reto (Ya, lo se, estoy loca)
