I'm back...He vuelto

Hi everyone!
Wow, it's been a while since I posted here on the blog, sorry about that. Last week I was really busy with some orders, that I will be sharing with you later this week. Apart from that I had to get everything ready for my first cardmaking workshop!!! It was so exciting!!
As I've already mentioned before, cardmaking is not big here, so I've never been to a class, cause there aren't any. Lately scrapbooking is taking off and there are some classes here and there. So a friend asked me if I would like to give a class, and I thought that it was a great idea! Everything I've learned about this hobby has been on the internet, with youtube tutorials or by taking the amazing Online Card Classes. So I made a couple of projects for the class, trying a couple of techniques, but not using many products, because some of the girls that were coming to the class had never heard of "cardmaking". It is more difficult than I thought, to give one of this classes without everybody having a trimmer, but I think they all had a good time and they seemed to really enjoy it and want to learn more (so maybe there are more workshops on my future!).
Here are the projects I showed in class:

Hola!
We started with a spinner card. I just wanted to show them that they can make a card just using scissors, paper and a few punches. This card took longer than I anticipated, but this was a learning expirience for me too. Next we made a little box:

Showed them how to make the box using Michelle's tutorial over at A Blog Named Hero. Then we used lots of distress inks and they had a go at the Cuttlebug and the Big Shot.
And this was meant to be project number 3:

I wanted them to have a go at embossing, cause that is the best thing about cardmaking right? But we run out of time, so I showed them really quick how it works and how you can emboss resist to color an image.
Now I know that next time I should start with embossing so they can all try it.
All in all, I think the class was good but I would love to hear any helpful tips you might have in the comments.
Thanks for stopping by!!

New Challenge at ABNH...Nuevo reto en ABNH

It's time for a new challenge at A Blog Named Hero, and as always it's sponsored by the amazing Simon Says Stamp
This time the challenge is about Shabby Chic or Vintage cards:

Here is my card for the challenge:

Aqui esta mi tarjeta para el reto:
I have to say that this was a really difficult challenge for me. Shabby Chic is not my style (at all), but I'm happy with how this card turned out.
For me Shabby Chic is soft distressed colors, lace, ribbons and layers. I didn't go crazy, but I added a little bit of everything.
For the background, I stamped the "Old Letter Writing" from Hero Arts using Antique Linen distress ink, and then I went over the entire piece of paper with the same ink and the ink applicator.
The ribbon, the lace and the button I had them on my stash, and I think they were my mom's, from years and years ago.
For the flower image, I just wanted to color and pop the 3 little flowers, and I added foam dimensionals, so it doesn't flatten in the mail. Here is a close up:

Aqui puedes verlo mejor:
So don't forget to stop by the blog, so you can see the cards from the other DT girls and play along! You could win one of these:

Did you have a good Valentine's Day? It's not a day that hubby and I tend to celebrate, but we always give each other a little something, and I got cake!!
And to celebrate it with you all here, I have a card:

Just a simple card with a couple of techniques. I love how an embossed die looks like, such a neat effect! And for the little birds I did some "mirror stamping" using the "Dude Block" stamp from Paper Smooches, and it works perfectly!
I hope you have a great day with your loved ones and thanks for stopping by!

The winner...La ganadora

Hello there!
I'm sorry it's taking me so long to post the winner of the giveaway, but apparently, being ill for a week, and then spending the weekend away, makes me really, really tired! So I have been sleeping a lot and not spending any time in the craft room.
I'll try to get some homework done from CAS 2 Online Card Class this afternoon, and see if my mojo comes back!
But now it's time for the winner of the giveaway:

Asi que he estado durmiendo muchisimo y no he pasado mucho tiempo en mi estudio.
So Lenny, you are the winner!!! I'll try to send you an email, but if you see this first, just contact me with your mailing address and I'll send the goodies to you asap ;-)
Thanks for stopping by!
